Criteria and Guidelines
Purpose: The Board of Directors of the Collective Empowerment Group (CEG) Cincinnati Metro Chapter is pleased to announce its annual CEG scholarships program. The CEG Scholars Fund will provide scholarship assistant to college students in three specific categories based on demonstrated academic achievement, financial need, extracurricular activities, employment experience and evaluations, and an expressed interest in pursuing a degree in business or business administration.
The students eligible for assistance will be awarded scholarships in the following categories:
It should be noted that the CEG Scholarships are for students meeting the above stated criteria and who are a members in good standing with CEG Cincinnati Metro Chapter Member Churches. Students should submit a scholarship application on the form provided by The CEG Scholars Fund.
The CEG Scholarship Selection Committee will collect applications and required forms. Scholarships will be awarded on an annual basis and disbursed in August for the Fall term. Students must continue to attend classes and maintain specified grade-point average (or equivalent) as defined in each award category. Review Application Packet for additional information on guidelines and criteria specific to the three (3) awards categories listed in Section A.
To receive the award funds, the award recipients must provide a copy of grades for his or her most recent term to The CEG Scholarship Selection Committee. If the recipient is employed, he/she is to provide The CEG Scholarship Selection Committee with their basic employment data including employment supervisor contact information for evaluation purposes.
Applicant is responsible for ensuring all items listed below are completed and submitted to CEG Scholarship Selection Committee:
Amount: Each scholarship awarded will be a minimum of $1,000 annually ($1500 for MBA applicants) to be paid at the beginning of the Fall term. The Funds will be sent directly to the student prior to the beginning of the Fall 2014 academic year. Checks will NOT be sent to the recipient's college or university. The student's major professor or faculty advisor must transmit a letter to the CEG Scholar’s Fund indicating the student's grades and (in specific awards categories) the student’s intent to enroll in the following academic term.
Deadline: The application deadline is February 1, 2014 - 5:00 PM. The deadline is the date after which applications will no longer be accepted. The CEG Scholars Fund uses the postmarked date to determine mailed entries.
Renewal process: These scholarship are not renewable. Only students enrolled or planning to enroll in a four-year college or university are eligible to apply. Previous scholarship recipients can re-apply.
Notification: Scholarship winners will be notified in March, 2014 and the award recipients will be announced at the 2014 CEG Business Excellence Awards and Annual Meeting on Friday, March 28, 2014 at the Sharonville Convention Center.
